Justin Huebner is an Eagle Scout and senior at Vistamar High School in Los Angeles with an intense drive to make the world a better place.

Justin is a published author, nonprofit founder, cancer researcher, and researcher and advocate for racial equity in venture capital.

Cancer Research

Justin designed and successfully synthesized a new iron-based anti-cancer drug in the 9-week intensive undergraduate chemistry research program (Chemical Learning Integrated in Materials & Biomolecular Applications) at the University of Puerto Rico.

Awarded 3rd place in an international research competition against undergraduate juniors and seniors.

Inclusive Investing Book

Justin authored a 266-page book, Inclusive Investing: Unleashing the Power of Entrepreneurs of Color; The Imperative for Racial Equity in Venture Capital Raising.

The book exposes funding barriers for business owners of color and advocates the financial and societal benefits of investing in diverse VCs & entrepreneurs.

Primary DEI Research

Justin conducted primary research under Wharton Ph.D. Brian Hathway, analyzing the effect of a VC fund manager’s race and gender on capital raising.

His whitepaper will be published by Ally Capital Collab, a nonprofit advocacy initiative to increase investment in BIPOC companies.

Venture Capital Diversity

Justin interns for Wocstar Capital, a venture capital fund founded by women of color investing in women of color and diverse, inclusive teams.

Justin helps evaluate new investment opportunities and uses his research work to advance Wocstar’s mission.

Food Aid Nonprofit

Justin co-founded and is president of International Support for the Impacted (ISI), a nonprofit fighting food insecurity in developing countries.

ISI has provided 61,323 meals through food aid grants to families impacted by the pandemic, natural disasters, political disruption and other crisis situations.

T-Mobile CA Star Student Award

Justin received the T-Mobile CA Star Student award for his nonprofit work in food insecurity and racial equity research.

South Bay Faces of the Future Award

“Making a Meaningful Impact Both Within and Beyond Their Communities.”

Justin was named one of South Bay Magazine’s Faces of the Future for his research advancing racial equity in venture capital.
